Wondering How Faux (Fox) News is Going to Spin This

9 Tied to Militia Charged in Plot to Murder Officers
Published: March 29, 2010
WASHINGTON — Nine members of a Michigan-based Christian militia group have been indicted on sedition and weapons charges in connection with an alleged plot to murder law enforcement officers in hopes of setting off an anti-government uprising.
In court filings unsealed Monday, the Justice Department accused the nine people of planning to kill an unidentified law enforcement officer, then plant improvised explosive devices of a type used by insurgents in Iraq to attack the funeral procession.
Eight of the defendants were arrested over the weekend in raids in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. A ninth remained at large, the Justice Department said. The indictments against them were returned last Tuesday. The defendants were identified as members of Hutaree, described by federal prosecutors as an anti-government extremist organization based in Lenawee County, Michigan, and which advocates violence against local, state and federal law enforcement.

Cavani DKW in The Classic Motorcycle

The Classic Motorcycle, Issue #2 (February 2010, Volume 37, Number 2) has an excellent little piece by James Adam Bolton entitled Best of Both Worlds:  "The crux of the matter," Bolton writes, "is that the DKW motor was manufactured in Germany, and the rest made in Italy - in a Frankenstein meets Bella Lugosi Italo/Teutonic marriage made in Bologna, the resulting motorcycle is a successful match of the Latin good-looking and compulsive, and the precise, measured engineering of the Germans.  It rides very nicely too."  The author goes on to point out the "massive disruption of the war and it's after affects" on the motorcycle business, and how that "forced a period of huge creativity and ingenuity in Italy between 1945 and 1955."  It's a smart looking little machine; the article is highly recommended.

Some of the statements will be viewed as spurious at best to some, and dead on to others.  This is from Classic Bike Magazine's Buyer's Guide:  The 109 Best Classic Buys, p. 55.

Must Reading by an American Icon: Garrison Keillor

I want Garrison to live forever.  There's no one like him, in a good way.

Conspiracy shopping

Tired of the feds setting your clock for you? Join the Free Time movement!

If you wake up in the morning with the blues because people treat you mean, you could sing a song about it, or you could shop around for an enormous conspiracy that has denied you your constitutional right to liberty and happiness -- and how about Central Standard Time? What gives the feds the right to set your clock for you? It's tyranny.

So you join the Free Time movement. You go to meetings. You tune in "The Bob Glenn Show" every day on Fox for your marching orders and set your clock as you darn well please and feel liberated from lockstep uniformity.
